Hoop Houses
I use "hoop houses" for temporary or mobile housing. I can put these up by myself, but it is much easier with 2 people. The only thing you need is:
3 cattle panels
8 T-posts
zip ties
tarp
I lay the panels on the ground side by side, drive in the T-posts on one side, push up the panels, making sure the sides are vertical so the goats won't climb them, and then drive in the T-posts on the other side. I zip tie the panels together and zip tie the tarp on and Boom! Done!
The hoop house in the picture has 2 panels, but usually I use 3. The goats really like these for getting out of the rain or hot sun. I try to put them under a tree for extra protection from the elements. Hoop houses really help with field rotation. Most people cannot afford a permanent shelter in every field. This is an affordable way to give the goats shelter and keep field rotations going. The does are put up at night in their permanent shelter, but the bucks spend the night in these at our farm. No problem!
